Dear Fellow Alumni of Our Great and Historic Institution,

It is with particular emotion and pride that I address you today — all members of the great family of the National Technical University of Athens; the Institution that for nearly 190 years has served as a cornerstone of the scientific, technological and social progress of our country.

From its founding in 1837 to the present day, NTUA has journeyed alongside the history of the modern Greek state, contributing decisively to the development of our homeland. Its path is inextricably linked to remarkable academic and research achievements, but above all to its people: the generations of graduates who have distinguished themselves in Greece and internationally.

You represent our Institution’s most valuable asset. Through your knowledge, your work and your professional journey, you have demonstrated in practice the values and quality of our University. Your contribution to science, technological progress, entrepreneurship, research and social development constitutes a living legacy for the next generations of engineers and scientists. Today, more than ever, NTUA strives to strengthen its ties with its alumni and to build a strong, active and internationally connected network of people who share common experiences, common values and a common vision. Through the NTUA Alumni Office, we aspire to create a vibrant space for communication, collaboration, mutual support and the exchange of experiences, for the benefit of both alumni and our new generation of students.

The University is not only its schools, laboratories and facilities. It is, above all, its people — the friendships formed in its corridors, the shared anxieties, the creative pursuits and the spirit of excellence that connects us across time. Although our paths have taken different directions, we all continue to carry within us the imprint of NTUA: the commitment to knowledge, the dedication to progress and the responsibility of contributing to society.

In today’s world of great challenges and constant transformation, our alumni community can play a decisive role. Your experience, your scientific expertise and your international presence are a source of inspiration and perspective for our Institution, and for the country at large. Through our collaboration we can enhance NTUA’s outward reach, build new bridges with the academic and research community, industry, the labour market and society.

I therefore invite you to participate actively in the Alumni Network of the National Technical University of Athens. Let us keep our relationship with the Institution alive, share experiences and knowledge, support our students and younger alumni, and contribute together to shaping the future of our University — serving as ambassadors of the excellence, creativity and social responsibility that have always characterised our Institution.
