With particular satisfaction, the National Technical University of Athens confirms its continuously strengthening international position in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 — the largest edition of the ranking to date, encompassing more than 1,900 universities worldwide, of which over 300 are participating for the first time. This year’s ranking clearly reflects the Institution’s dynamic trajectory and the growing recognition of its academic and research output, reaffirming its leading role in the international academic and research arena.
In the broader field of Engineering and Technology, NTUA is ranked 134th worldwide, recording a substantial improvement compared to the previous year and further consolidating its international standing. This position is reflected in the core evaluation indicators, which highlight the quality and international impact of the Institution’s research activity, its recognition by the global academic community, and the strong connection of its graduates with the labour market.
At the same time, NTUA records notable distinctions in individual scientific disciplines, including Engineering – Chemical (positions 101–150), Engineering – Civil and Structural (positions 51–100), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (position 130), Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering (position 144) and Mineral and Mining Engineering (positions 51–100).
These distinctions reflect NTUA’s systematic commitment to academic excellence, the production of high-quality scientific work, and the strengthening of international cooperation, reaffirming its role as a leading academic and research institution with a strong and continuously growing presence in the international scientific community.
