The National Technical University of Athens Career Day 2026 was held with outstanding success on Monday 25 May 2026, organised by the Career Services Office for Students and Recent Graduates, at «Serafeio» of the Municipality of Athens.
This year’s event was one of the most significant occasions for connecting the University community with the labour market, bringing together 60 leading companies from a broad range of sectors, including energy, construction, technology, industry, telecommunications, consumer goods, and shipping. In the framework of the event, more than 1,400 scheduled interviews took place between graduating students, alumni, and postgraduate students of NTUA and representatives of the participating companies, creating meaningful professional networking and employment opportunities for the new generation of engineers and scientists.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Athens and Professor at NTUA, Haris Doukas, who engaged in conversation with students, alumni, and business executives, underscoring the importance of connecting academic knowledge with innovation and production. As he stated: «Serafeio of the Municipality of Athens was transformed into a meeting point between the new generation and the labour market, hosting a significant Career Day of the National Technical University of Athens. Hundreds of graduating students, alumni, and postgraduate students came into direct contact with representatives of 60 leading companies, opening new paths for their professional development. Congratulations on this effort! The Municipality of Athens will be a proactive supporter of initiatives that strengthen the connection between the academic community and entrepreneurship and create employment prospects for young people.»
The Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Professor Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou, highlighted the strategic role of the event in connecting young scientists with the labour market, stating: «The NTUA Career Day is a dynamic institution that substantially reinforces the connection of our students and alumni with the labour market, technology, and entrepreneurship. The strong participation of industry-leading companies and young scientists confirmed the high standard of the Institution’s academic programmes and the significant prospects that open up for our graduates in the Greek and international labour market. Many of the company representatives in attendance are themselves NTUA alumni, which is deeply moving, as it demonstrates that they maintain a meaningful and living bond with NTUA.»
The Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs and Student Welfare, Professor of the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at NTUA, Panagiotis Psarrakos, welcomed the Mayor of Athens and expressed his satisfaction at the exceptional success of this year’s Career Day, stating: «The National Technical University of Athens, remaining true to its tradition of service to its students and alumni as well as to Greek society, provided participants with the opportunity to conduct interviews with established companies from different sectors of the economy and entrepreneurship that correspond to their scientific and professional interests, to learn about contemporary professional prospects, to develop valuable contacts, and to pursue meaningful employment and career opportunities.
The high level of participation and the strong interest shown by both the companies and our young people demonstrate that NTUA continues to play a leading role in connecting academic knowledge with production, innovation, and the development of the country. I would like to warmly thank all the companies and their executives who participated, the Municipality of Athens for hosting the event, and the members of the Polytechnic community who worked to make the event a success.»
Of particular significance was the presence of members of the Board of Directors of Anaptyxiaki Athina S.A., who come from the Polytechnic community, confirming the strong ties between NTUA and its alumni.
