Vasilis Dimos

The National Technical University of Athens played an important role in my life, beyond the purely academic dimension. During my student years I met people who remain central to my life to this day: the woman who later became my wife, my co-founder, and some of my closest friends. These relationships were shaped through the daily life of the University and evolved naturally alongside us, long beyond our student years.

At the level of thinking, NTUA taught me not to fear complex problems. To break them down into parts, to examine them from different angles, and to persist until they make sense. I encountered this same way of thinking again later when working with NTUA graduates: there was a familiar, shared logic in how we approached things, which often stood out without needing to be stated.

Looking back, I would never have imagined that my professional path would pass from a “virtual shoe company” in the NTUA laboratories all the way to contributing to the creation of one of the most well-known companies in Greece. The journey was never a straight line — and perhaps that is the interesting part. I am truly grateful for everything NTUA gave me, and for everything that life has brought along the way.
